Promiseland is the audiovisual moniker of Johann Rashid, a multidisciplinary artist blending music, performance art, and video into a unique and high-energy experience. His sound, a potent mix of punk vocals, driving beats, poetic chants, and ritualistic lyrics, has cultivated a dedicated fanbase and earned the admiration of Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, who signed him to Cult Records and dubbed him "The Future Prince of Anarchy." Known for his spontaneous and unforgettable performances, Promiseland transforms any setting into an intense, immersive experience.
With a flexible modular setup, Promiseland seamlessly transitions between electronic sets and full-band punk shows, adapting effortlessly to a wide variety of venues. Recent standout performances include his electronic sets at Noche de Primavera and Pitchfork Festival in Mexico City, an intimate show at Baby's All Right in NYC, and a full-band punk set at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, opening for The Strokes. That was followed by a full direct-support run with The Strokes throughout Asia.
His genre-bending abilities have also led him to share stages with artists like Boy Harsher (with his project Mazmorra Brillante in Mexico) and a co-headlining European tour with Kris Baha, further establishing his versatility.
